Thank you for visiting Awesomecollies.com. We are a family owned kennel where we believe our “Animals are brought from the Heart”. Here in Benson, North Carolina we only breed registered Border Collies and registered German Rottweilers where there’s plenty of room. We love our family members and breed them responsibly giving them all the luxuries that a dog could hope for and where they are treated exceptionally well. We only breed our dogs once every year to year and a half in order to protect the health of our dogs and yours. Here you will find why we chose these breeds, our workings with our dogs, our personal precautions, and the kennel club we use and why.

We encountered the German Rottweiler on a visit to family in 2008. We were apprehensive at first but quickly realized how loving and goofy these gentle giants were around family members; especially children. We respected these dogs so much that we brought our first one home and have had them ever since. Our German Rottweiler’s have an extremely strong German bloodline and they have strong instincts.

Instinctively, the Rottweiler protects its family and property. Although we do not deter this, we do train our dogs to know when it’s appropriate. When we train our adult Rottweilers, we teach them German commands. This is to allow them to focus on the commands clearly and without distractions. This teaching also helps avoid any confusion with our Border Collies.

There are precautions to owning a German Rottweiler. One is to remember that they protect their family and the owner should be aware of the risks and appropriate training is needed. We have gone step further and enrolled our Rottweilers in specialized training in order to exemplify the ability of our bloodlines and to personally have the peace of mind in owning a well trained dog. Another personal precaution of ours is that the Rottweiler has what we personally refer to as “night blindness” and a light should be kept on for them at night because they will protect and go against any shadow that moves in the dark.

We’ve been using the CKC, Continental Kennel Club, since we started raising the German Rottweiler because we are more concerned with the personality, intelligence, and qualities of a pure bred dog, rather than its “prettiness, conformity, and appearance requirements”, which is required by other kennel club’s in order to be eligible for showing, ribbons, and registration. We find whether the dog has amber eyes or dark eyes or the difference between rough or smooth coats is irrelevant. If the dog has a personality that touches the heart in only a way that special dog can, then that dog is worthy of our love and admiration. You can find more info on the CKC at their website www.ckcusa.com.

We offer these German Rottweilers because we love our dogs and the breed. All our dogs are on heartworm prevention, flea prevention, vaccinated regularly, and are only fed food with a well balanced diet of protein, fat, and dairy. We do believe in breeding responsibly and this is why we believe our “Animals are brought from the Heart”. We want you to be more than happy with your choice for our German Rottweiler puppies and want to thank you for visiting our website.
